The security forces on Tuesday destroyed around three lakh marijuana saplings and recovered 50 kilograms of dried marijuana meant for smuggling across the border in Sidhenagar region of Tripura's Sepahijala district.

The joint operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the state police was carried out on the basis of specific inputs by the intelligence agencies.

The BSF has stated that the law enforcement agencies have struck well in advance to stop criminals from cultivating ganja in the hinterlands.
