Haroon Rasheed, who was appointed as the chief selector for Pakistan cricket in March 2015, says that the selection panel is keeping an eye on veteran spinner Saeed Ajmal's performance and is in touch with him.
Ajmal, who is making a comeback to competitive cricket with a re-moulded action, returned with impressive figures of 8/100 in Worcestershire's innings defeat of Hampshire, picking up his first five-wicket haul since February.
Rasheed said that Ajmal has been a great asset for Pakistan and is doing well in the county season and bowling really well with his new action, PakPassion reported.
He further said that they are in touch with him and added that the bowler was keeping them informed about his progress.
Rasheed insisted that the off-spinner remains on the selector's radar and in the reckoning especially after the hard work that he has put in with his new action.
Worcestershire's bowling coach Matt Mason had earlier heaped praised on Ajmal, saying that the spinner has returned to his original best and will surely be winning the confidence of the selectors back home if he continues with this kind of performance.
