Sensex ends flat, Nifty at 7977; FMCG weak

Giving a mixed sentiment throughout the day, the market ended flat with the Nifty managing to trade in the trajectory of 8000 mark. It traded at 7977.10 while the Sensex fell 25.93 points trading near 26192.98.

The smart recovery on Monday witnessed laggards from the midcap space such as Reliance, M&M, Dr Reddy's Labs, ITC and Bharti Airtel. Among the gainers were Hindalco, Maruti, Axis Bank and SBI.
