Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah and Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari are expected to hold seat-sharing talks with the party's core committee in Mumbai today.

The seat sharing issue is linked to the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in Maharashtra for the upcoming assembly polls.

The alliance is currently at an impasse over perceived seat-sharing differences as also on who will be the chief minister in the event of a victory.

The Shiv Sena is reportedly not ready to accept the BJP's demand for equal seat sharing and insists that the chief minister should be from the Shiv Sena. Senior BJP leaders from Maharashtra, including Devendra Fadnavis and Vinod Tawde, met Gadkari at his New Delhi residence last evening to discuss the issue.

Both parties have reportedly had heated seat-sharing discussions in the last few days.
