Shahid Afridi says 'better off' coaching himself

Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has said that he does not 'need a coach' and is better off 'coaching himself'.

Afridi, whose batting was instrumental in Pakistan's win over India and Bangladesh during the Asia Cup matches, has said that after having played at this level for so many years he very well knows 'what to do' and 'what not to do', the report added.

According to the Nation, Afridi praised Pakistan's support staff for backing him and said that it is about having the right people to back a player and support him, as Pakistan prepares for the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka on March 8.

The Asia Cup is reportedly Pakistan's first tournament under a new team management with coach Moin Khan and chief consultant Zaheer Abbas.

Afridi also added that he is not thinking about the World Twenty20 match against India on March 21, as Pakistan has reportedly failed to beat India in an ICC World event, and said that his team is focusing on the Asia Cup final at the moment.
