Disgraced former American cyclist Lance Armstrong was urged by his handlers to end his short-lived relationship with former child star Ashley Olsen, who is 15 years younger than him, according to a new tell-all book on Armstrong's life.

Ultimately, the relationship ended after only a few months, and Armstrong then moved on to actress Kate Hudson.

According to News.com.au, Julie Macur, who authored the book 'Cycle of Lies', wrote that just weeks after Armstrong broke up with designer Tory Burch in late 2007, he was spotted out in New York with Olsen.

Macur quoted an onlooker saying that once Armstrong and Olsen were spotted making out all night, with Olsen drinking red wine and sitting on his lap, and the author added that Armstrong was told not to date Olsen by handlers who worried how it would affect his image.

Macur said that one of Armstrong's long-time friends (and head of his Livestrong Foundation), John Korioth 'warned the 36-year-old father of three that his romance with Olsen could damage his cancer work', adding that the infatuated Armstrong answered Olsen is 21 and told his friend to 'f*** off'.
