In continuation of their efforts to get their dream houses, members of the Shanti Niketan Society in Sector 52 Gurgaon, Haryana, held a General Body Meeting on 06 December at the Society premises and elected a new "Managing Committee" from among its members.
The constitution of a new Managing Committee from among the Society was necessary to carry forward the construction and other work of the society that remained stalled for years.
Notices against the members of the previous committee have been issued by the Office of the Assistant Registrar, Gurgaon and official proceedings are expected to be instituted against the builders who had absconded few years ago.
The Committee will take all necessary steps to restart the work in the Society in consultation with designated official authorities of the Haryana Government and Gurgaon Administration.
A second Membership Disputes Redressal Committee has also been constituted to look into the problems and issues of such members whose records with the Assistant Registrar Office are incomplete due to the lack of functioning of the previous committee.
The Assistant Registrar Office, Gurgaon will be kept in the loop so that all official processes are adhered to.
The Shanti Niketan Group Housing Society was registered under Haryana Cooperative Societies Act, 1984 on May 23, 2003 by a group of builders with the commitment to build 96 flats of different denominations.
The flats were sold out an amount exceeding Rs 70 Crores collected from buyers but the Society is yet not complete after 12 years. Work stopped in the premises in 2010. The builders are not ready to place the documents and accounts of the society in front of the buyers who are share holders in the society, nor have they taken any steps to resume construction.
