Govt. following Hitler's footsteps, alleges Congress

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, on Tuesday accused the BJP-led NDA Government of following the footsteps of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler with its repeated attempts to demoralise the innocent and end the Opposition's role in a democratic country.

"We are agitating against the government's strategy to demoralise the innocent and end the role of Opposition in the democracy. This policy of the government and the 'Hitler shahi' will not work," Kharge told ANI in an exclusive interview here.

"You can consider the case of raid by the CBI on Virbhadra Singh's property on the day of his daughter's wedding, even Chidambaram is wrongfully blamed, cases have been also been filed against former chief minister of Rajasthan. So, there are several case which I can tell you," he added.

Kharge's response came after both houses of Parliament saw repeated adjournment on Tuesday following ruckus by the Congress MPs over the National Herald case.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi have been asked to appear in a Delhi Court on December 19 in connection with this case.

Apart from the Gandhis, other accused who were denied exemption from personal appearance included Suman Dubey, Moti Lal Vohra, Oscar Fernandes and Sam Pitroda. Besides these individuals, the Young India Limited (YIL) is also an accused in the case.

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had filed a complaint before the trial court in 2012, alleging that Congress leaders were involved in cheating and breach of trust in the acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) by YIL.
