Taxi aggregator Ola today announced that its newly launched Share Pass has already pre-sold over five million Ola Share rides in less than 60 days. The positive response to Share Pass is a vote of confidence from Ola customers in the convenience, predictability and cost-savings that Ola offers.

Share Pass, a subscription product, allows customers to take Ola Share rides at a flat fixed price. Inspired to solve specific challenges in India, Ola has taken an innovative approach towards simplifying its Ola Share users' commute, delivering affordability, predictability and 'no peak pricing' benefits to Ola Share users.

Available in three variants of 10, 20 and 40 rides; customers can hail an Ola Share and pay the same price for every ride. After running a successful launch in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, Share Pass is now live in a total of seven cities including Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.

Millions of Indian commuters rely on public transport, including buses, local trains and metros for their daily travel. In India, the concept of a 'pass' for regular commuters, such as a monthly bus pass or Mumbai-local pass, is part of daily life in India.

Ola, a new-age internet company, is now proud to bring this customary offering to its users. Today, with Ola Share being one of the most popular daily commute offerings from Ola, customers can have an efficient and reliable experience using Share Pass.

"At Ola, we believe that shared mobility has the potential to solve major transportation issues in India, including congestion and pollution. Ola Share makes AC cab rides pocket-friendly and eco-friendly. Inspired by the customary Indian option of a 'monthly pass' for regular commuters, Share Pass is a first-of-its-kind product which offers fixed fares per ride, and a predictable and consistent fare for regular Ola Share users," said CMO and Head of Categories at Ola, Raghuvesh Sarup.

"Share Pass is a major step ahead for shared mobility in India, and we predict

this category will be as large as the industry is today, in the next 18 months," added Sarup.

Ola Share has been steadily gaining acceptance and the number of people opting for shared rides on the Ola platform is on the rise. Over the last eight to 10 months, Ola Share been able to save upwards of five million kilograms of carbon emissions along with over two million liters of fuel as more and more people shared cabs.
