Vibhakar Shastri, the grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, on Friday asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not offer floral tribute at Vijay Ghat on the occasion of his grandfather's 111th birth anniversary.
"The Prime Minister just gives speeches and does not consider anything from the heart. If he would have considered things from the heart, he would have come to Vijay Ghat today," Vibhakar Shastri told ANI here.
"He uses the slogan of 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan', but he should have come to pay tribute. He did not even come to the Parliament to pay tribute to Gandhi ji. I don't understand what kind of a Prime Minister he is. He only talks and makes promises," he added.
On his twitter account, Prime Minister Modi today paid homage to the former prime minister.
"I bow to the proud son of India, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary," PM Modi tweeted.
