The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Wednesday downplayed the Shiv Sena's threat to the BJP with regard to the local body and municipal corporation polls, saying that if the former is unhappy, it should be frank in expressing it.

NCP leader Majid Memon told ANI, "Why is Shiv Sena inviting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take a step and that then it will retaliate? If you are unhappy with the BJP be frank, say that we want to sever relationship with you. Or admit that the Shiv Sena wants to be with the BJP. Admit either way. This is just dual policy neither here nor there."

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray yesterday dared the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to break their alliance in the upcoming Zilla parishad, Thane Municipal Corporation and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections and warned that should that happen, the BJP would come to actually know what a surgical strike is.

"I dare the BJP to break alliance in the upcoming zilla parishad, Thane Municipal Corporation and BMC elections, and then we will show what surgical strike is," said Thackeray while addressing a Ramleela function gathering here.
