Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday felicitated security personnel and commoners, who were part in the rescue operations of 45 people at Sultan Garh Waterfalls in Gwalior's Shivpuri, where the water level had increased due to a sudden release of water from a dam.
It was a scene of tragedy at the Independence Day on August 15, when 11 youths were drowned following an increase in the water level, while 45 people were rescued from the spot after the Madhya Pradesh police launched a rescue operation.
A chopper was also pressed into service to locate the missing people who were stranded.
The Sultan Garh waterfalls is a popular picnic spot situated amidst rocks in Shivpuri.
