Shree Govindaji temple in Manipur which holds huge significance both historically and spiritually stands as a symbol of devotion and integration in the region.

With two gold plated domes, Shree Govindaji temple in Manipur's Imphal city stands as an epitome of devotion, architectural perfection and integration of different religions.
Located next to the palace of former rulers of the then Manipur Kingdom, Shree Govindaji Temple was originally built in 1846 A.D. during the reign of Maharaj Nara Singh.
Shree Govindaji Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and His consort Radha.
The temple also has idols of Lord Jagathnath.
A large number of tourists and devotees from across the world visit the temple for worship.
They sing Bhajans and Kirtans dedicated to Radha and Krishna, sending a message of unity and integration.
"In Manipur, there was a king called Bhagya Chandra, he was the first one who carved out the statue of God. There are six images of God carved out by wood which are kept inside the temple but Lord Govinda is kept on topmost. Shree Govindaji Temple is the largest Hindu, Vaishnav temple in Manipur," said B. Rajendra Sharma, Supervisor, Shree Shree Govindaji Temple Board.
Temples dedicated to Lord Krishna can be found around the world where people of all religions attend special sermons.
The message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which means the world is one family, is spread among the masses.
The Shree Govindaji temple in Manipur not only puts out the northeastern state in the world map but also brings people together.
"I feel very good to live nearby the temple and we come regularly to pray. Even my mom is in the member of Sheba Marup of Govinda so, we often come here. We are grateful to Bhagya Chandra to establish this temple," said Bachaspatimayum Jogesh Sharma, a devotee
"I feel very good. We come here to pray and it's not only during full moon day but we come to worship everyday so it is very good," said Ibemma Laishram, another devotee.
Shree Govindaji temple showcases traditional architecture, while upholding the value of peace, love and devotion.
