A complete shutdown is being observed today across the Kashmir valley against the killing of a three- year-old child and his father in Sopore town of Baramullah District.
All roads were seen empty and the shops remained closed.
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on yesterday had called for a complete shutdown today.
The victim Bashir Ahmed Bhat, who had quit militancy after serving a prison term, was attacked near his residence in Sagipora.
Sources reported that Bhat and his three-year-old son were injured after unidentified militants struck at his residence.
Both were rushed to hospital, but Bhat succumbed to his injuries on the way, while his three-year-old son died this afternoon.
