Australian pace bowler Peter Siddle has said that he has felt the sting of three consecutive Ashes defeats heavily and there were a lot of things to work on to overturn results.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the 28-year-old admits, it hurts to have had such extensive first-hand experience of defeat to England, along with Brad Haddin and Shane Watson who played in the past three series and are about to begin another.

Siddle, however, said he was buoyed by the looming opportunity to again bowl with Harris and Johnson.

The Victorian said England captain Alastair Cook would be rated as the key wicket by the Australians but said Ian Bell, who averaged 62.44 in the past series, was not far behind in terms of importance, the report said.

He also said he hoped spending the next week in Brisbane training with his fellow seamers, under the guidance of newly reappointed Test bowling coach Craig McDermott, would help them improve on the bowling plans used generally to good effect recently in England, according to the report.
