Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong today inaugurated the centre for excellence for tourism at Udaipur's Sukhadia University in Rajasthan.
This advanced training centre, the first of its kind in the state, was proposed under the Resurgent Rajasthan Model, which is a partnership between the State Government and Singapore.
The Singapore Government has offered a package of 2.47 million Singaporean dollars to provide training to the master trainers of the proposed Centre of Excellence in Udaipur so that these trainers can acquire global level of skills in hospitality sector.
The Rajasthan Government and Singapore will work together to make Rajasthan an international tourist destination and to develop Jaipur as a smart city.
Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to this effect were signed between the Rajasthan Government and International Enterprise Singapore in Udaipur today.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje were present on this occasion.
According to MoU, marketing of tourism sector in Rajasthan will be done collectively by both the stakeholders. A grant in aid of 4.84 lakh Singapore dollars for tourism promotion programme in Rajasthan was also announced on this occasion.
