Sir Elton John had to cancel a string of concerts on Tuesday night after being hit with appendicitis.
The 'Sacrifice singer' is now expected to undergo surgery in the next few weeks, the Daily Star reported.
His spokesman said that the 66-year-old musician is fine and is resting at home.
He explained that that John is on intensive antibiotics to reduce the inflammation.
The rep said that Elton will not return to touring until fully recovered, adding that Elton is incredibly disappointed.
Fans were due to see the singer alongside Elvis Costello, 58, and Ray Davies, 69, at the Barclaycard presents British Summertime gig in Hyde Park on Friday.
He was also due to perform at the Collisioni festival in Italy with further shows in Germany on Thursday.
