Sisodia backs Kejriwal, says never asked for proof on surgical strikes

Defending Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal who is drawing flak from all quarters for questioning the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today said that his party colleague had only asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to answer Pakistan's false propaganda.

"The people are making fun of us at the international level and we are praising the Prime Minister that the Indian army has done a great job and gave a strong message to Pakistan. Now, they should stand up and answer the propaganda which is raised against the Indian army by Pakistan," Sisodia said while taking on the BJP for its unwarranted attack on the AAP.

Kejriwal yesterday clarified that he backed the ruling dispensation at the Centre and sought proof to counter Pakistan's false propaganda.

He said that the foreign media, influenced by Pakistan's false propaganda, is running news doubting the authenticity of surgical strikes.

"I have only supported the Centre and congratulated and saluted the Indian Army in my video. I have only said that Pakistan is indulging in false propaganda claiming that surgical strike is farce. We all know that surgical strikes took place and we all believe that, but even in the foreign media, believing Pakistan's claim, is portraying the same be it, Washington Post, New York times, BBC, everybody is running the news that surgical strike did not happen," Kejriwal said.

He further accused Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad of trying to politicise the issue.
