The twitter account of Somali militant group al-Shabab has been reportedly suspended for the second time with no elaboration from the site.

The group said that suspending their account @HSMPress1, is a futile attempt adding that it had no other active Twitter feeds in English and warned users to beware of 'parody accounts'.

The al-Qaeda-linked group had claimed on Tuesday that it had ambushed the convoy of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who was unhurt and the group posted that the next time he won't be as lucky.

According to the BBC, Twitter's policy states that accounts can be suspended if users publish threats of violence and also if they use Twitter for unlawful purposes or illegal activities.

However, al-Shabab's Arabic feed is still running and analysts said that in the past the US has attempted to close their account, but had lacked the legal means to force Twitter to do so.

Other tech-militant groups like the pro-Assad Syrian Electronic Army have also faced similar suspension over their activities through the microblogging site and analysts believe that there is no way these groups can be stopped from making another account, the report added.
