"Wherever you go around the world, where people have preserved their cutlture, there the democracy has strengthened; this is true in the case of our democracy. Even after so many difficulties we have been able to preserve the Ganga-Jamuna heritage," Sonia said.
Sonia also said that it was a matter of pride that President Pranab Mukherjee, who hailed from Bengal, who struggled in his whole life is now playing the the role of the country's president, "You should be proud that a person who struggled for his entire life, has now become the president and enriched our country's heritage.
