Congress vice-president, Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday lamented that Chhattisgarh could not develop as it should have even after having all the qualities for development.

"You have everything, but still nothing is happening. You are not developing as you should have. There are two types of government. There is a Congress government which thinks everyone as equal. On the other hand you have a government which is being run just for a selected few," Gandhi said at a rally in Durg.

Rahul said that BJP believes in creating differences in the society and spreading hatred.

"Somewhere they beat women, while in Maharashtra they beat people hailing from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar," Rahul Gandhi added.

The Congress vice-president snubbed the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for telling people that nothing has happened all these sixty years and for creating an impression as if he was a solution for all the ills.

"He said that nothing has happened for the last sixty years and that if he becomes watchman then he will do it in 100 days which the adivasis, women, farmers could not do in last sixty years. Farmers toil in the field, and here Modi comes who will do everything," Rahul said.

Rahul attacked Modi for self-proclaiming himself and he gave an example of how Manmohan Singh had conducted himself as a prime minister including everyone in the process of governance.

"BJP believes in only one person. For the last ten years we worked for your rights. When you listen to Manmohan Singh's speech he says that it is all of us who worked. Only one person cannot run a country," Rahul added.

Rahul Gandhi stated that it is the Congress government which has ensured guaranteed work for all without looking at anyone's background.

"We have guaranteed employment for 100 days without seeing the colour of a person's religion or background," Rahul remarked.
