Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi today extended their greetings on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
"Guru Nanak Dev ji's message of compassion & humanity will continue to guide our lives and that this holy occasion of Guru Purab on Kartik Purnima, will continue to foster tolerance and coexistence, forever," the official Twitter handle of Indian National Congress quoted Sonia as saying.
The Congress vice-president also took to twitter to extend his greeting on the occasion.
"My best wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of #GuruNanakJayanti," he tweeted.
Guru Nanak Jayanti, the birthday of Guru Nanak Devji, is being celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across the country and various places abroad. Gurudwaras are decorated and devotees are listening 'Keertan' and taking holy dips in the Sarovars.
