'Sopranos' star Christopher Evan Welch dies at 48

Actor Christopher Evan Welch, who has appeared in films including War of the Worlds, Lincoln and Sopranos, has passed away. He was 48.

His agency confirmed the news, suggesting that the actor died in a Los Angeles hospital following a sudden illness, Metro.co.uk reported.

The actor had been reportedly shooting on HBO's upcoming series Silicon Valley in LA.

The Office US actor Rainn Wilson was among those to tool Twitter to pay tribute to Welch.
