South Korea condemning the use of chemical weapons in Syria conflict has said that the use constitutes a crime against humanity that is intolerable under any circumstances.
South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, during the UN General Assembly debate said that the chemical weapons use in Syria is the worst humanitarian disaster in the 21st century.
The foreign minister welcomed recent positive developments in international efforts to end the civil war which, according to the United Nations, has left more than 100,000 people dead since its outbreak in March 2011.
He further welcomed the recent agreement between the US and Russia on the 'Framework for Elimination of Syrian Chemical Weapons' and the decision of adopting binding resolution by the Security Council.
The foreign minister urged the Syrian government to faithfully implement its commitments to the international community.
