Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samajwadi Party leader Rajendra Chaudhary today said that if any fascist thinks he can run the nation alone, the power of the state governments is going to suffer.
"The BJP has become extremely arrogant since the time it came to power. They are not thinking about the people and the nation. If any fascist thinks he can run the nation alone, what will happen to the powers of the state governments," said Chaudhary.
"If they have formed their government at the centre they should not try to destroy other parts of the country. The BJP has only brought tensions. They have created tension in Ayodhya, Kanth, Mathura, Muzaffarnagar, and Moradabad," he said.
"The Samajwadi Party is there in Uttar Pradesh to look after the people. They should re-think about the democracy first and prove themselves. Then they can think about the well being of Uttar Pradesh. People know it well that our party is there to stay in Uttar Pradesh till 2017. They should work on inflation and other issues prevailing in the country instead of creating tensions," he added.
Chaudhary's reaction came after BJP President Amit Shah thanked all who had worked selflessly for the party's victory in the 2014 general elections and lashed out at the Congress Party, saying, the fact that it could not even become the principal opposition party in parliament.
