A district court in Jalaun on Monday awarded life imprisonment to Samajwadi Party MLA Kaptan Singh Rajput and his brother Laxman Singh in a 13-year-old murder case.
Special Judge Sanjay Kumar had earlier on Saturday convicted both of them after which they were sent to jail.
Seven other accused in the same case were, however, let off by the court due to lack of evidence.
The two brothers along with seven of their associates were booked in 2002 for the murder of Krishan Dubey in Jalaun district.
