A Special Session of the Delhi Assembly is presently underway to discuss the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has primacy in postings and transfers of officers belonging to central services.
The two-day session has been called to deliberate on Centre's notification giving absolute powers to the Lieutenant Governor in appointment and transfer of bureaucrats and issues of police and public order.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government is expected to push for full statehood for Delhi and may call for a referendum during the session.
Kejriwal had earlier on Monday listed out his party's achievements at a public meeting at the Central Park in Connaught Place.
He claimed that his government has worked hard, adding that the people of Delhi are satisfied with their performance.
The Delhi Chief Minister, who was accompanied by his colleagues, claimed that his government is focused on 11 important issues that include pollution, electricity, traffic, corruption, water, education, slums, women's safety, unauthorised colonies and health.
