Dubbing the NDA Government as a 'Jhooth-Mooth ki Sarkar', Congress leader Manish Tewari on Tuesday said the present government should get a Bharat Ratna for its incompetence and all-round failure.
"The last one year has demonstrated that the BJP Government is not only the Government of corporates, by corporates and for the corporates, but more than a Suit-Boot ki sarkar, it is Jhooth-Mooth ki sarkar," Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari told ANI.
"If at all there's a Bharat Ratna that can be awarded for incompetence and all round failure, it should go to the present government," he added.
His comments come as the NDA regime completes a year in office today.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a message on the first anniversary of his government, had expressed his happiness to see India on "the fast path of development", and added that the country's environment since the NDA Government came to power last May is "suffused with a new enthusiasm".
The Prime Minister said the nation can be proud of the fact that it has an improved image on the international front and is determinedly marching forward to achieve its overall goal of providing welfare to the poor and lifting the marginalized sections of society.
