Sri Lanka: 3 injured in shootout amid political turmoil

As many as three people were injured here in a shooting incident on Sunday after a group of protestors blocked former Sri Lankan Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Arjuna Ranatunga's route as he arrived at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) for a meeting.

A security personnel was arrested from the site, reported Daily Mirror quoting police officials.

According to the police, the arrested security personnel fired live bullets at the protestors.

Injured people were admitted to the hospital.

The investigation is underway.
