A special Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to boost cooperation in the defence sector has been signed between Sri Lanka and South Korea.
The MOU was signed yesterday when the President of the National Defense University of Korea (KNDU), Lieutenant General Wee Seungho, called on Sri Lankan State Minister of Defense, Ruwan Wijewardene and Secretary to the Minister of Defense Karunasena Hettiarachchi, reports the Colombo Page.
A South Korean defence official said this move will help to promote defence relations between the two nations and Seoul will provide more training opportunities to Sri Lankan security forces.
Meanwhile, Wijewardene said his country would focus on providing special training to South Korean national defense officials at the Kotelawala National Defense University.
