Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Ram Vilas Vedanti on Saturday reiterated that he ordered the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992, and there was no political pressure on him to withdraw the remark.
"I am not pressurized by any political party and I claim to have demolished the old structure with the support of members of Karsewaks to rebuild the temple," Vedanti told ANI.
Vedanti further refused to accept that there was a mosque on the disputed land and expressed his determination to build the Ram temple.
Vedanti on Friday claimed it was he and not BJP patriarch LK Advani who incited the frenzied karsevaks to pull down the disputed shrine.
Vedanti's remarks came two days after the Supreme Court resurrected the conspiracy charge against senior BJP leaders Advani, Joshi and Uma Bharti in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
