Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas on Monday said that stories are being planted against him over his alleged affair with a Muslim volunteer of the party and added that he would keep fighting against this 'dirty politics'.
"Stories are being planted (by media), wrong campaigning is being done, but such people have forgotten that they too have families. This is only being done to bring us down, but I'll keep on fighting against such dirty politics, we are not going to be scared," said Vishwas.
"That woman has mailed me, she has clearly written 'Bhaiya' I've filed a complaint, what should I do next? She filed complaint against four people with names and her complaint says efforts were made to defame her but no action taken till date," he added.
Earlier in the day, the AAP woman volunteer, who has filed a complaint against Vishwas alleging a physical relationship, said that the poet-turned politician had asked her not to pay heed to his wife's unwarranted allegations.
Vishwas has been accused of having a physical relationship with a volunteer in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Vishwas had unsuccessfully contested against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in the general elections.
According to reports, the victim's husband has threatened to divorce her.
The victim, who has been living alone for the past one month, has reportedly alleged that Vishwas's wife has been spreading rumours that she found him in an compromising position with the poet-turned politician. She has also alleged that she is being defamed on social media.
