Suicide bomber targets anti-ISIS campaign leader in Afghanistan

At least two civilians were killed and 17 others wounded after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives targeting a provincial influential figure Haji Hayat, who has been leading campaign against the ISIS loyalists particularly Daesh rebels - in Kot district in the province.

Nangarhar Governor Spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said the suicide attack occurred at around 10 a.m. time in Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province.

Local officials said Haji Hayat has survived the attack while his two bodyguards sustained minor injuries and that they were taken to a nearby hospital after the incident., reports Tolo News.

A number of buildings in the area were damaged in the suicide attack.
