Summer Japan Shopping Festival 2014 attracts foreign tourists

The Summer Japan Shopping Festival 2014 began in Tokyo on July 1.

Announced by Japan Tourism Agency and a Japanese leading credit card company, JCB, the festival attracted a large number of foreign tourists.

Japan tourism agency and JCB has come up with an exciting offer of tax exemption on Japan shopping festival. The foreign tourist has to give one time declaration in duty free shop.

It is more convenient than EU system which requires late cash back and application at the time of leaving country.

Tax exemption is applicable to wide range of all products including food, drink, medicine and cosmetics.

Mr. Shigeto Kubo, Commissioner of the Japan Tourism Agency explained that the number of foreign tourist visited Japan was 10 million last year which is expected to rise by 20 million in 2020.

It has been speculated that Tokyo Olympic year will increase the voluminous of shopping.

The summer Japan shopping festival has celebrated by campaign character "Kitty".

Executive Vice President of JCB Brand Marketing Department Jiro Sugihara explained about contribution to this event.

Card members of JCB around the world can get free admission to Tokyo Tower's main observatory. 17 Million International card members of JCB in 16 countries and territories can enjoy spectacular view of Tokyo by just showing JCB card at the entrance.

JCB focuses on Asian tourist and offers lucrative services to them.
