The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Head of the Forensic Department, Dr.Sudhir Gupta, said on Thursday that the post-mortem conducted by him on Sunanda Pushkar's body, was based on principles of medicine and ethics applicable to the law.
Dr. Gupta told media that the post-mortem report of Sunanda Pushkar was authentic.
"In this case, any of the post-mortem report, which has been prepared by me is totally based on principle and practice of medicine as per the ethics applicable to the law," said Dr. Gupta.
Earlier, as per media reports, Dr. Gupta had claimed he was pressurised to tamper with the post-mortem report of Pushkar, who died under mysterious circumstances in a posh New Delhi hotel on January 17 this year.
Health Minister, Harsh Vardhan, had also sought report from AIIMS Director Dr. M.C Mishra after the new revelations in the case.
A leader of Bharatiya Janata Party had also alleged the involvement of few politicians in the case and demanded a trial of the Apex Court.
Meanwhile, Pushkar's family members expressed satisfaction with the re-opening of the case and hoped for justice.
"We knew this from the beginning that something was suspicious. Influential people have tried to suppress the matter. But by the grace of god, it (case) has opened again. We want proper interrogation and justice to take place," said Pushkar's cousin, Ashok Kumar, in northern Jammu city.
Tharoor, 57, married Sunanda in 2010, in a third marriage for both. Tharoor's aides said the couple had checked into the luxury hotel because of renovation work at his Delhi bungalow.
Sunanda was embroiled in a spat with the Pakistan-based journalist, Mehr Tarar, whom she accused of stalking her husband in a series of Twitter posts.
