Sunken ferry captain's actions are murderous, says South Korean President

South Korean President Park Guen-Hye has said the actions of the captain and crew of the sunken ferry was 'akin to murder'.

The comments from Guen-Hye came as a radio transcript was released of the conversation that took place while the Sewol ferry was sinking. The transcript revealed that an anonymous crewmember, aboard the Sewol, kept talking to two different Vessel Traffic Service Centres at Jeju and Jindo, as the ship sank on Wednesday morning, the CNN reports.

The unidentified crew member asked the service centres to notify the coast guard as they were rolling immediately, none of the passengers being unable to escape. The transcript might also help to solve the mystery of why more passengers did not escape on lifeboats.

The mishap culminated into 250 people gone missing with only 50 bodies recovered, and 174 to have survived. The captain of the sunken South Korean ferry along with two crew members has been reportedly arrested as investigators looking into the matter are inspecting whether his evacuation orders came to late to save lives.
