Sunni militants may have 'vicious plans' for hundreds of kidnapped women in Iraq: Report

An Iraqi official said hundreds of women belonging to the Yazidi religious minority have been abducted by Sunni militants with "vicious plans."

According to FOX News, Kamil Amin, the spokesman for Iraq's Human Rights Ministry, said hundreds of Yazidi women below the age of 35 are being held in schools in Iraq's second largest city, Mosul. He said the ministry learned of the captives from their families.

Amin reportedly said that the terrorists by now consider them slaves and they have vicious plans for them, adding that these women are going to be used in demeaning ways by those terrorists to satisfy their animalistic urges in a way that contradicts all the human and Islamic value.

An unnamed US official confirmed that the militant group has kidnapped and imprisoned Yazidi women so that they can be sold or married off to extremist fighters.

However, the official said that there was no solid estimate of the number of women victimized.

Yazidis and Shiite Muslims are apparently considered apostates by the Islamic state.

Christians have been asked by the Islamic militants to either convert to Islam or pay a special tax.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have now gained control over Iraq's largest Christian town, Qaraqosh.

The French government has confirmed that Qaraqosh has fallen into the hands of the militants and expressed France's concerns over the progress and the acts of violence that have been committed there, reported CNN.

France has immediately called for a United Nations Security Council meeting to discuss the threat posed by the militant group in Iraq.

Thousands of Christians have reportedly fled from the city just like other minorities targeted by the group including, Shia Muslims.
