Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Saturday said the efficiency and capabilities of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has been thwarted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who does not know how to run a government.
"Suresh Prabhu is known to be an efficient minister, but his efficiency and capabilities have been completely thwarted by the Prime Minister who does not know how to run a government," Dikshit told ANI.
The Congress leader said it's becoming apparent that ever since Prime Minister Modi-led NDA Government has come, the rate of major accidents that have been happening has increased in many folds.
"We express sympathy and support to all those who have been injured. I would urge the local administration there and the state and central governments to give all possible help for the people involved in this accident," said Dikshit while commenting on the train derailment in Karnataka.
Taking a jibe at the BJP-led NDA Government, the Congress leader further said that this government wanted to take railways on a bullet train path, but it is not able to manage even simple trains.
"Once again it's a case of a Prime Minister talking big and vending his dreams without any substance, idea or any way of administering. The government's whole plan seems to fall flat," he added.
At least two passengers died and eight others injured after nine coaches of the Duranto Express going from Secunderabad to Mumbai derailed in Karnataka early this morning.
The accident took place around 2 am at Martur village station in Gulbarga district, near the Maharashtra-Karnataka border.
