Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday said the suspects, who allegedly leaked classified information from his ministry, will be severely dealt with.

"These things used to happen previous(ly) also, but this new government is very conscious of this leakage. We have increased our surveillance, agencies are on their job, they will come out with full facts," Pradhan told ANI here.

Pradhan said that it was common for papers to be leaked during the tenure of previous governments but added that the BJP-led government was taking many precautions.

"The new government is keeping a surveillance. Cameras have been put up. The government will take stringent action," he added.

Pradhan further said the police is investigating the matter and added that all those behind the incident will be booked.

"At this stage, nothing can be spelt out. This will be unfair, too judgemental. Let the police do its own job, everything will come out," he added.

As per reports, two officials of the Petroleum Ministry are among those arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly leaking classified government documents.

Reports further state that the classified information, which had many policy details, was allegedly meant to be shared with corporate houses.
