A swine flu awareness camp was organised by the Cantonment Board here on Tuesday under the aegis of the Chinar Corps at Batwara.
The interactive lecture-cum-awareness camp saw an attendance of about 300 residents from Panderthan, Athwajan and Batwara.
Army doctors from the Badaami Bagh Cantonment elaborated on the prevention and detection of this disease and exhorted all to be careful with symptoms of cough and fever as well as to maintain cleanness.
Fifty-five more deaths due to swine flu were reported across the country yesterday, taking the total death toll to 1,370.
As per reports, about 25,000 people have tested positive for the H1N1 virus till now.
Symptoms for swine flu include high fever, headache, muscle pain, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain and internal and external bleeding.
