Citing insufficient evidence, legal representatives have now backed off from levelling sexual abuse charge against Hollywood veteran actor Sylvester Stallone.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has declined to level a charge against the actor which pertains to a 30-year old case, reported Deadline.
Investigators mentioned that there was "insufficient evidence" to support the filing of any allegations outside the "statute of limitations". On November 2017 a woman filed a police report over an alleged sexual assault that she claimed to have faced in the 1990s at the hands of Stallone.
According to a charge evaluation worksheet released by the DA's office, both Stallone and the woman were in a "consensual relationship in 1987".
"The victim alleged assaults in 1987 and 1990 and provided fresh complaint witnesses. However, none of the witnesses corroborated victim's allegations," the worksheet read.
Stallone's lawyer Marty Singer had also acknowledged that Stallone was in a week-long relationship with the woman while shooting for a movie in Israel back in 1987.
Sylvester would be next seen in action movies 'Rambo V' and 'Creed II'.
