As the United States-led coalition carried out 15 air strikes in Iraq and Syria over a period of three days, Syria's Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem has said that after two months of coalition air strikes, the U.S. has failed to weaken the Islamic State (IS).
He added that the terror group cannot be defeated unless the United Nations Security Council and Washington forced Turkey to tighten its border controls, reported The Guardian.
Moualem also said Turkish demands of establishing a no-fly zone in northern Syria would lead to the partition of the country and accused Turkey of having "designs" on Syrian territory.
Meanwhile, the U.S.-led coalition conducted 13 strikes in Iraq since Wednesday. The other two targeted IS militants in Syria.
The strikes conducted in Syria targeted IS fighting positions and staging area near Kobani and a tactical unit near Aleppo, Central Command said.
In Iraq, the attacks destroyed bunkers, vehicles, a bulldozer, and a fighting position near Kirkuk and a large unit and four tactical units as well. Two raids conducted near Mosul targeted vehicles and a heavy weapon. Another tactical unit was hit near Ramadi.
