Exiled Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen's visa has been extended for one year and she has been permitted to stay in India till August 2016.

Nasreen had left Bangladesh in 1992 due to death threats from Islamic fundamentalists who alleged that her work, especially 'Lajja' meant to insult their religion.

She has been living in exile since 1994.
