New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor has said that they need to have a 'smart approach' to prepare for a 'sharper' Indian fightback in the second ODI at Seddon Park on Wednesday.

Being 1-0 down in the ODI series after a 24-run defeat in the opening match in Napier on Sunday, India is set to find conditions more to their liking at Seddon Park, with the pitch expected to be a fair bit slower than that at McLean Park, which would bring spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja into play.

According to Stuff.co.nz, Taylor said that he is aware India will come back with a much stronger fightback as they are the number one ODI side in the world, adding that as compared to the wicket in Napier, the one at Seddon Park is a little bit slower and may have one boundary bigger than the other.

The former captain further said that it could mean the slower short balls came into the plans on a ground where New Zealand were hammered by the West Indies in the final game of that ODI series this month.
