Taylor Swift is set to "break" the first-week sales record of Britney Spears with the release of her new album titled '1989'.

The 24-year-old country singer is expected to surpass the record of most sold album copies by a female that was earlier set by Spears' album 'Oops!...I Did It Again' in 2000, the Daily Express reported.

Spears' album had sold over 1.319 million copies in 2000.

According to Billboard, the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker latest album has already sold more than 1.3 million copies since it was released few days ago.
