Dhaka police have arrested Mahfuzur Rashid Ferdous , a teacher of the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, in connection with a sexual harassment case, days after a protest took place on the campus.
Ferdous was arrested last night from Eskaton said Mohammad Iqbal, officer-in-charge of the police station, reports the Daily Star.
Iqbal added that Ferdous will be produced before a court today.
Following demonstrations by Ahsanullah University students over the harassment, Ferdous was suspended by the university authorities last Saturday.
The case against him was filed in this regard last night.
Students allege that Ferdous, a teacher of electrical engineering has a long record of sexually harassing female students.
