The Delhi High Court on Friday granted bail to Lieutenant General (retd.) Tejinder Singh in the Tatra case after a special CBI court rejected his bail earlier this week.

"Initially, the court summoned my client on September 1, via a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) judge. In that hearing, my client's bail was dismissed and he was taken into custody," Lieutenant General (retd.) Singh's lawyer Anil Aggarwal told ANI here.

"We moved quickly to the High Court and after a lengthy argument, the court has granted bail to my client under the condition that he does not leave the country and has to give a personal bond of Rs one lakh and two equal sureties of the same amount," added Aggarwal.

The CBI had earlier in July chargesheeted Lieutenant General (retd.) Singh for offering former Army Chief General VK Singh a bribe of Rs 14 crore in connection with the supply of Tatra trucks to the Indian army.
