Indian cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar has requested the Indian media to leave his son alone following the teenager's grade cricket debut attracting widespread media attention.
According to News.com.au, 14-year-old Arjun Tendulkar made one run from 11 balls on his debut for Young Parsee Cricket Club against United Cricket Club in a Kanga League 'G' division game on Sunday before he was stumped off.
Making an appeal to journalists to give his son space as he finds his way in the game he loves, the 'Little Master' said that his son is passionate and 'madly in love' with cricket, adding that he would appreciate if his son is allowed to have his own identity and just enjoy his cricket.
Tendulkar also said that as Arjun has just started his career, it is a humble request to journalists to let his son lead the life of a normal teenager, without thinking about anything else except falling in love with cricket.
According to Tendulkar, he is going to be a protective father, adding that when he started playing cricket, at no stage he was pressurised to follow in the footsteps of his father, who was a professor.
Tendulkar also said that there were no comparisons between him and his father.
Arjun also bowls left-arm medium pace and returned figures of 1-35 as his side went on to claim victory, the report added.
