Senior Jammu and Kashmir police officers have arrived in the state's Budgam District to pay their last respects to the Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Shabir Ahmad, who was killed by terrorists at point blank range this morning.
Ahmad's body was placed a tri-colour draped wooden coffin for all ranks of the police to pay homage before it is sent to his home in Uri in Baramulla District.
Two other cops were also injured in the incident outside Chadoora Chowk police station in Budgam District of Kashmir.
The two injured policemen have been identified as Constable Mohammad Shafi and SPO Firdous Ahmad.
The militants managed to flee after the attack. No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
