Looks like the fate of the 'furious' family was sealed by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and no one saw it coming.

Amid a special premiere event with the cast at New York City's Time Square that was streamed on Facebook Live, Universal released the official trailer for 'The Fate of the Furious', the eighth installment to the 'Fast & Furious' franchise.

In the three-minute long trailer, terrorist villain Cipher (Charlize Theron) is heard manipulating Toretto to go up against his family.

"You know what I Like about you Dom?" Cipher asks Dom, "You're an ingenuine outlaw. But your family is about to go up against the only thing that it can't handle-you!"

Then, Dwayne Johnson is seen joining forces with Shaw's brother (Jason Statham), who was sealed away in an underground prison in the previous installment after he went rogue.

However, the combined effort does not seem to beat any driving skills of Toretto, who is seen getting away more than once.

The first in the franchise without late co-star Paul Walker, the movie also stars returning actors such as Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, as well as newcomers like Scott Eastwood, Theron and Helen Mirren.

Helmed by F. Gary Gray, 'The Fate of the Furious' is set to release on April 14, 2017.
